Chief of Police – City of Eastport

            The City of Eastport in coastal Maine is accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The City seeks an applicant with impeccable ethics, strong administrative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Officers of the Eastport Police Department. In addition to the administrative duties of Chief of Police, the successful applicant will actively patrol.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as a competent and collaborative manager of the Department
  • Developing and administrating the annual Department budget
  • Ensuring Departmental compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local regulations
  • Communicating with the public regarding Departmental initiatives and public concerns
  • Fostering the growth and development of the Officers of the Department

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Graduate of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or able to obtain a waiver


  • Salary dependent on education and experience
