Job Description:


Applications are being accepted to establish an Public Safety Communications Specialist eligibility list.

Job Functions

Performs responsible technical work on a rotating shift answering in-coming emergency and non-emergency phone calls via 911 system and multi-line phones, and to communicate with Public Safety Officers to dispatch them to locations where incidents are occurring.



High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by two (2) years similar communications experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.


Special Requirements

Must be able to pass a written exam, background investigation, poly and psych exam. 

Because this position is open as an eligibility list, it may take several months before you are notified about upcoming written exam dates. Exam dates are only released a few times a year based on departmental needs. We appreciate your patience during this process.
