Job Description:

Responsibilities of the position include the following:

•shaping the technology vision for the organization;
•leading the City’s efforts to innovate and transform information technology services and business practices for optimum operating efficiency and effectiveness;
•monitoring and researching trends in information technology to help frame the development of strategies to achieve long range goals;
•developing long-term organization-wide strategy for system development and hardware acquisition and integration;
•ensuring information technology strategy is continually aligned with the City’s mission and goals;
•monitoring and overseeing initiatives that support and address information technology issues and objectives, partnering and collaborating with City departments and agencies for effective results; and
•representing the City on boards or committees involved in information systems planning at the regional or state level, providing advice and assistance to City business technology planning efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management information systems, business administration, or a closely related field and a minimum of six years of progressively responsible full-time experience in information technology including two years of management experience. A relevant master’s degree is preferred.
