Fire Chief - $187,000 - $207,000 Annually – The Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority is currently recruiting for a Fire Chief. The Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority covers approximately 60 square miles and protects a population of over 181,000. Emergency response services include basic life support, fire suppression, hazardous materials, and technical rescue. The RFA has 11 fire stations, more than 220 fulltime uniformed firefighters, and has an operating budget of roughly $49.3 million. Working under the direction of the Governance Board, the Fire Chief is the Chief Executive Officer, Fire Chief and General Manager and is responsible for the overall direction, planning, budgeting, organization, staffing and coordination of administrative and technical activities of the RFA. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field, and a minimum of 10 years of fire service experience, including at least five years of progressively responsible fire service management experience in a comparable size department is required.
