Job Description:

The town of Wellesley Information Technology (IT) Department is seeking to hire a full-time (35 hours/week) Systems Administrator. Under the direction of the Network Manager the Systems Administrator's primary responsibility is to design and implement highly-scalable data storage platforms and other technologies that support collaboration in the workplace. The incumbent is a project manager, involved in the strategic planning for system enhancements that increase productivity for over 300 Town network end-users. As a member of a customer service team with shared responsibilities, the Systems Administrator is expected to support the Network Manager and Desktop Administrator with server virtualization, disaster recovery, cyber security, mobile device management, and cloud technology implementation (e.g. Office365). The ideal candidate would possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline; three years of experience administering IT systems for complex organizations; three years of experience with Windows server operating systems (2008 or later); three years of experience with server virtualization technologies (VMWare, or equivalent); knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and LAN/WAN.  Knowledge of alternate desktop/mobile operating systems (MacOS, iOS, Android) preferred. Anticipated hiring range: $64-78K, DOQ, with excellent benefits (health insurance, vacation, sick time, retirement plan).
