Merrimack County Human Services Department is seeking a full-time Director of Juvenile Services to provide day to day supervision and direction for the Juvenile Diversion Program and its staff. The Director will help to develop community service sites, and interview and train community service supervisors. This position is also responsible for interviewing juveniles and their parents for selection and placement in the community service program or an educational component as needed. The Director will supervise restitution programs and monitor juvenile performance in the programs as well as write evaluations and reports for courts and referral services. This position will also establish and maintain records and statistics to measure program effectiveness. The Director will be required to represent the County when appropriate in court cases and at State and local meetings as necessary.
Non Union/ Salaried position. Labor Grade 8 Salary range: $58,780 – $82,076 annually. The position will remain open until filled.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, social services, counseling, or related field. Five year’s work history in criminal justice, social services, or drug and alcohol programming with experience in staff supervision, program development and grant management or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
