Manages the administration of benefits available to eligible veterans and their dependents through the MA Department of Veterans’ Services, the U.S. Veterans Administration and others including employment; pensions; disability compensation; medical and hospitalization; long-term care; outpatient treatment; vocational rehabilitation; education and the like. The position is 19 (+/-) hrs/wk at an annual salary of $20,000.00. Successful applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, be a veteran of the Armed Forces of the United States as defined in M.G.L. Ch. 115, and be certified as a Veterans' Benefits and Services Officer (or obtain said certification within six months of appointment).
