Sturbridge Fire Department is currently recruiting.

Minimum requirements include high school diploma or GED, non-smoker, valid Massachusetts driver’s license, and certification as a National Registry EMT. The ideal candidate for the position is progressive in the fire, rescue and EMS field; firefighter I/II certified; paramedic certification and possess other advanced qualifications and degrees. Candidates should be customer service-oriented.

Compensation package includes: $59,083.20-$87,277.90 annually, depending on qualifications, plus multiple overtime opportunities. Other benefits include paid vacation, sick time, uniform allowance, training reimbursement, and medical/dental insurance, as described within the collective bargaining agreement.

Candidates may be subjected to one or more of the following: a medical examination, a physical ability test, a psychological examination and a rigorous background investigation as part of the hiring process.
